For over 15 years I have resisted the allure of major professional services firms to forge a more impactful niche; providing practical, hands-on support to business owners.

A quant at heart, I am in my element alongside ambitious, visionary entrepreneurs where I can offer data-driven financial insight to devise and deliver innovative strategy. 

I love to constantly grow my skills. With the fierce rate of tech advancement in finance, I try to stay at the cutting edge with the apps, systems and processes I’m familiar with.

Drawing from this toolkit and experience base, I offer clients efficient solutions which work, alongside the insight to stay on top of the numbers and alert to opportunities. 

Putting the Thinking and the Feeling behind Impact

 Becoming husband to a spirited Señorita and father of two strong-willed children helped me realise how apparently logical solutions only get one so far in life. 

This realisation and subsequent sharpening of emotional intelligence has had an outsized impact on my professional effectiveness.

Key now to my approach is looking beyond the numbers and even their philosophy, to the feelings and behaviours of those who are influenced by them.

In this way I go beyond just providing insights, to the actual practicality of gaining the trust, engagement and buy-in to roll-out solutions which deliver measurable impact. 

My Credentials

I self-qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) whilst servicing clients in the property sector. I have a 1st Class degree in Management & Finance obtained via night-school. To round off my education I completed an Executive Masters at LSE in 2017, providing invaluable skills in data-driven strategy and economic context.

Professionally, I have over 15 years continued success leading the development and execution of financial, commercial and operational improvement strategies for SMEs. This experience spans executive, advisory, consultancy and interim roles across property, fintech, SaaS, retail, banking, manufacturing, government and NGOs, from startups to high growth and mature businesses. 

Through these roles I have developed broad experience across financial planning & analysis, controllership and treasury in a variety of settings. My typical value-adds are in business partnering, cash flow management, raising funds, preparing for exit, M&A, control/compliance systems, management/KPI reporting and innovative commercial strategy.
